About Me

My name is Viktoriia Doroshenko, a Toronto-based artist originally from Ukraine.

Creativity has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, but becoming an artist was never part of my plan. That changed after the day my older sister passed away, who was also an artist. I spent countless hours beside her, watching her create and becoming fascinated by her work.

After she was gone, I felt a responsibility to continue what she had started. Every time I create, I feel a connection to her. The first medium I worked with was a set of markers that once belonged to her — tools I still keep today as both inspiration and memory.

My work explores themes of inner conflict, emotional resilience, depression, transformation, and the complexity of human experience. Through painting and drawing, I examine both darkness and light, vulnerability and strength, searching for meaning within the psychological landscapes we all carry.

— If my work can make someone feel understood, seen, or inspired to embrace their true self, then it has fulfilled its purpose.
